Sunderland College to Host 'School of Rock' Auditions

Arts North Studios in Sunderland is on the lookout for its next big star, gearing up to stage the vibrant musical 'School of Rock' next April at The Fire Station. The college is inviting young talents from around the North East to audition for this energetic production.

Open Call for Young Performers

Principal Annie Guy expressed her excitement, stating, "I’m thrilled to open auditions to our young people. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to work alongside West End professionals and participate in such an exhilarating musical right here in Sunderland!" Auditions will be held on September 28, and kids aged seven and above can showcase their talents.

What's in Store for the Auditionees?

With over 13 child roles and four adult characters, 'School of Rock' is based on the beloved 2003 film and has enjoyed global success since its Broadway debut in 2015. Known for its catchy tunes and upbeat performances, it promises to be a delightful experience for both performers and audiences alike.

Training for the Future

Arts North Studios, which opened earlier this year, offers various musical theatre education opportunities through its partnership with Culture Quarter and Sunderland College. The college is staffed by West End professionals, providing students with hands-on training to prepare them for careers in theatre, television, and film.
